
Tonight I unexpectedly went to a concert played by an all women's band called "August". It was casual yet intimate as they shared their stories looking like familiar neighbours with guitars in their hands or a washboard around their neck; not to mention old visa machines that played a few notes. Yes, even my "visa machine" plays a few notes; more than I would like at times. But there I was seeing with my eyes closed and listening to something that held me and inspired me like a good painting or photograph. I heard before me a true work of art: infused with passion from the seemingly ordinary. I included this plen air painting with this reflection as it reminded me simply of a warm night like tonight's.
